Apply now for the Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge

This year, the Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge, one of the largest annual international competitions for sustainable businesses, is taking place again. The challenge seeks sustainable and innovative ideas that can be used in everyday life or transformed into a consumer product.

Green founders have until Noon on April 15, 2021 the opportunity to apply for the Green Challenge online. Applying companies must complete a short questionnaire and submit a detailed business plan. After several selection rounds, the top five will present their business idea to an international jury of experts. This is where the first-place winner will be chosen, who will take home €500,000 in prize money. The remaining finalists won't go home empty-handed either. Second place will receive €200,000, and the other three finalists will receive €100,000. All finalists will also receive six months of expert coaching.

Terms and conditions of the Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge

Startups can only participate in the Challenger if they come from a country where the Postcode Lottery is represented. These include the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Norway, and Sweden. Since the lotteries themselves state that 30 percent of all ticket contributions go to charitable projects, the Green Challenge is increasingly looking for sustainable and innovative ideas that can help these partners, be used in everyday life, or be converted into a consumer product.

In addition, startups wishing to apply must have already developed their product to the point where they can implement it and bring it to market within two years. In addition to these criteria, the jury also evaluates factors such as communication potential, courage, and creativity.
