Requestee offers companies so-called penetration tests, or pentests for short. Munich startup Hackers trying to find security vulnerabilities in corporate apps and IT systems. The coronavirus pandemic has had a direct impact on demand for this product, as Requestee co-founder Fabiola Munguia in the video #DieWeltnachCorona reports:
"Coronavirus had become a very, very important topic for us, especially because medium-sized and smaller companies suddenly had to go remote. This meant their mindset had completely changed. They suddenly had to go digital, and that included having a secure technical infrastructure. Therefore, pentesting naturally became a very relevant topic."
The startup itself also had to adapt to Corona and expanded its product range during the crisis, as Munguia explains.
'Workation': Requestee founder combines work with vacation
When asked what should remain from Corona, the founder mentions the remote culture:
"People should definitely have the freedom to decide whether they want to work from home or go to the office, for example. The 'workation' trend should definitely continue."
She herself was working from Fuerte Ventura at the time the video was recorded:
“I always like being able to go surfing after work and see a bit of the beach.”
Munguia considers her own team to be a winner of the pandemic. While her startup has experienced some ups and downs, Requestee was also able to close a pre-seed round and gain its first paying customers during the crisis. She summarizes:
“We are definitely on the right track.”
