Truckoo closes successful seed round

Munich-based tech startup Truckoo has set its sights on revolutionizing the commercial vehicle trade. It is now receiving support from Global Founders Capital (GFC), Sennder, and the Flixbus founders, who are jointly leading the seed financing round.

Truckoo was founded in early 2020 by Julia Unützer and Max Füchsl. The Munich startup has developed a platform for the purchase and sale of commercial vehicles such as vans or construction vehicles, which digitally organizes the trade through established commercial vehicle workshops. Truckoo aims to reduce the costs and risks associated with purchasing commercial vehicles while simultaneously increasing transparency.

If a customer wants to sell their commercial vehicle, they can take it to a Truckoo partner workshop, where it will be evaluated free of charge. The workshop will then register the vehicle using the Munich-based company's app and inspect it using a standardized procedure. The recorded data is then sent to Truckoo in real time and, after a brief internal review, is automatically converted into a multilingual offer on the platform. International dealers and workshops can then bid on the offers and negotiate prices directly with the sellers. After the purchase, the startup will also handle the transaction, including payment and logistics.

According to the startup, within its first year of validation, it was able to acquire over 100 workshop partners across Germany and build an international network of dealers. Truckoo already generates seven-figure revenue. With the new capital, the startup plans to further develop its technology and significantly expand its partner network.

Truckoo now has “the strongest financial partners in the mobility scene on board”

Julia Unützer, founder and CEO of Truckoo, says:

"In our first year with Truckoo, we were able to validate a working, convincing model, which has generated strong interest from workshops for the cooperation model and from dealers. We are now expanding our workshop network across Europe. We are very well positioned – we have extensive industry experience, an extremely good technology architecture with which we are breaking new ground in the inspection of commercial vehicles, we maintain very close cooperation with our workshops, and now have the strongest financial partners in the mobility scene on board."
