Relevo secures millions in financing

The Munich-based startup Relevo offers a reusable to-go system for the restaurant industry. The startup has now won over the Swedish company Duni Group and other private investors.

Relevo offers sustainable, reusable to-go solutions as a pay-per-use system, tailored to the individual needs of restaurants, cafés, corporate canteens, caterers, and communal catering providers. The startup was founded in spring 2020 by Aaron Sperl, Gregor Kolb, and Matthias Potthast. Since then, it has gained partner locations in over 50 German cities and grown to 35 employees at four locations. With the current investment, Relevo plans to further scale its solution and expand into the DACH region and beyond. The investor, the Swedish Duni Group, an international provider of takeaway solutions, will play an important strategic role in this. For the multi-million euro investment, the amount of which was not disclosed, the Swedes will receive a 20 percent stake in Relevo.

"With Duni, we have gained a strategic partner for our continued growth, one that cares as much about sustainability and environmental awareness as it does about modern, customer-focused solutions for the hospitality industry. We therefore share the same mindset and see ourselves strengthened in our vision of using environmentally friendly, reusable to-go packaging to protect the environment,"

says Matthias Potthast, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Relevo. Also Aaron Sperl, also co-founder and managing director of Relevo, is certain:

"As a leading player and long-standing partner in the food service industry, Duni's strong brand and network enable us to roll out the innovative Relevo reusable to-go solution in the DACH market. Together, we want to avoid packaging waste and offer the restaurant industry customized, sustainable to-go solutions."

“Ensuring a circular economy for the future”

Robert Dackeskog, President and CEO of the Duni Group, sees it similarly:

"We are delighted to be working with Relevo. It will be an exciting journey and a great opportunity for Duni Group to complement our offering and help our customers find the best sustainability solution. We know that local waste management circumstances vary greatly, so both single-use and reusable alternatives are necessary to ensure a circular economy for the future."

In addition to this major partner, Relevo was able to convince other experienced entrepreneurs as business angels of the idea, concept, and implementation. In a press release, the Startup Ralf Meister, Thomas Krug, Marc Tenbücken, Richard Lenz, Denja Sproll and Heike and Thomas Potthast.
