Joko Winterscheidt and Michael Käfer join Greenforce

Greenforce produces vegan meat and milk substitutes and secured €15 million in its latest financing round. Joko Winterscheidt and Michael Käfer, among others, are joining the Munich-based company.

With the fresh capital, Greenforce plans to grow faster, expand internationally, and expand its research and development center in Munich. Joko Winterscheidt says:

"The impact of reducing animal products is enormous. Greenforce products alone have saved over 45,000 tons of CO2 and 66 million bathtubs of water, compared to the same amount of meat production. That's the kind of thing that gets me."

Similarly, Michael Käfer:

"Sustainability is not a passing trend. Demand for sustainable food is growing rapidly, so we need good alternatives to animal products. Greenforce has done an excellent job in this area and is a driver of innovation in the industry."

Greenforce already available at 8,500 sales outlets

The Munich sell their vegan Easy-to-Mix powdered products via e-commerce and in food retail stores at approximately 8,500 outlets. The first fresh products from Greenforce have recently become available in supermarkets. More products and outlets are now planned to be added at home and abroad.

Greenforce was honored this year by the animal rights organization PETA with the Green Product Award and the Vegan Food Award. All products are 100 percent vegan and made in Germany. Compared to 100 grams of beef protein, the production of 100 grams of pea protein requires approximately 48 percent less land, eight times less water, and 113 times less CO2 emissions. The company claims to be climate-neutral, relies on green logistics, and offsets CO2 emissions through climate protection projects.
