Bioniq takes over Loewi

The London-based company Bioniq is acquiring Loewi. The startup, based in Münchner Technologiezentrum (MTZ), specializes in personalized nutritional supplements based on blood tests and lifestyle analyses and is a scientific spin-off from the Technical University of Munich. The purchase price was not disclosed.

By taking over Loewi hopes Bioniq, which currently offers its personalized health optimization solutions in Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia, gains access to the DACH region and the Dutch market. The Munich-based startup is already active here.

Loewi has developed a personalization concept that enables individual analyses of health-related data. Using an algorithm, Loewi creates tailored nutritional recommendations and nutritional supplements to provide personalized and targeted support for individual health, performance, and well-being. Philipp Merk, Co-Founder of Loewi, explains:

“95 percent of Loewi customers improve their blood values after three months and 89 percent report feeling better.”

Personalized nutritional supplementation as a global industry standard

Through the acquisition, Bioniq plans to enhance its own personalized solutions and leverage Loewi's existing partnerships. The Munich-based startup collaborates with research institutions such as the Technical University of Munich, the University of Turin, and the University of Zurich, among others.

Adrian Kapsalis, Co-Founder of Loewi, says about the current takeover:

"Joining forces will enable us to integrate Loewi's technology on a global scale. Together with Bioniq, we are taking a major step closer to our shared mission of establishing personalized nutritional supplementation as the global industry standard."

Big visions and new markets

And Vadim Fedotov, CEO and Co-Founder of Bioniq, says:

"Thanks to Loewi's patented personalization concept, Bioniq's vision can be realized on an even larger scale. We are impressed by the Loewi team's achievements in building partnerships with leading research institutions and sports organizations."

He continues:

“This acquisition will help us enhance our own personalized solutions and make them available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.”
