“Start-up competition – Digital Innovations” is looking for digital business ideas

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is once again seeking digital business ideas. Applications for the summer round of the "Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations" are still possible until March 31.

All participants in the "Start-up Competition - Digital Innovations" will receive a written evaluation of their idea sketch. The winning teams will also receive prize money, attractive networking opportunities, and the chance to win the "Strong Female Digital Founders" special award. The 21 winners of the Start-up Prize will each receive €7,000. The Start-up Prize+ is endowed with €32,000. The special prize comes with a cash prize of €10,000.

The special award "Strong Female Digital Founders" recognizes promising digital solutions implemented by founding teams predominantly led by women. Teams with at least 50 percent female representation are selected, and their ideas will also be recognized with a Founding Prize or Founding Prize+. The participating female founders must contribute crucial know-how to the startup. The award is intended to help increase the visibility of Women in the startup scene and thus increase the proportion of female founders.

Start-up competition: Awards ceremony in late summer

To participate, an idea sketch must be submitted on the Website of the start-up competition The sketches should demonstrate the innovation and benefits of the idea, address the founders' technical and business skills, and describe their networking with potential customers and partners. Video footage is also welcome. A company does not need to be founded yet.

In the first phase of the Competition All submitters will receive feedback in the form of a SWOT analysis. The top 50 participants will have the opportunity to revise their submissions based on the feedback and re-upload them via the submission portal in the second phase, from June 1 to 30. The jury will select the winners from these submissions. The awards ceremony will take place in late summer 2022. All participants in the second phase will again receive written feedback.
