Munich Startup is the official startup portal for Munich and the region. It was developed as part of the "Munich Entrepreneurship Strategy" by the City of Munich, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria, and the association of the four entrepreneurship centers of Munich's universities. The sponsor is the Munich Business Park and Technology Center GmbH (MGH).
The portal has established itself as the first virtual contact point for technology-oriented, innovative startups in Munich and the surrounding area. Munich Startup is characterized by a neutral, independent, and transparent presentation of content and participants.
It increases transparency within the startup scene and promotes networking between founders and potential partners, investors, and mentors. All key stakeholders in the Munich startup scene are involved. The goal is to make Munich and the region the first choice for high-growth startups in Europe.
As the overarching ecosystem partner, Munich Startup is active in a variety of ways, in addition to editorial work, in the national and international positioning of the entire ecosystem. This can include participation in studies, international conferences and trade fairs, speaking engagements on Munich as an entrepreneurship hub, or partnerships with European and international networks. In the near future, the focus will be on organizing and promoting startup events in Munich. In close consultation with colleagues, you will develop new strategies and define goals to be achieved together.
Your tasks:
- Conception and implementation of new (event) formats to strengthen Munich as a startup location
- Close collaboration with the startup ecosystem
- Maintaining and expanding Munich Startup's network with founders and stakeholders of the ecosystem in Munich and internationally
- Close exchange with Munich startups to understand their needs
- Building long-term partner relationships
- Advertising and presentation of Munich startup activities on podiums and events nationally and internationally in word and writing
- Maintenance and further development of non-editorial content on our website
Your profile:
- Successfully completed university studies
- Ideally at least 2 years of professional experience
- Strong interest in new technologies and innovations
- Independent working style, high level of initiative, flexibility and organizational talent
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and
- fluent English
- Strong networking skills with startups as well as with representatives of institutions and larger companies
- Ability to speak about startup topics in front of a larger audience, predominantly in English
- Willingness to travel occasionally at home and abroad
- Flexibility in working hours
- Strong teamwork skills
Confidence in one’s appearance, enthusiasm for the topic of “startup and entrepreneurship promotion” and a sense of service are just as much a matter of course as the use of modern information and communication technologies.
