New start-up and innovation center: City council says “yes”!

The plans for a new start-up and innovation center Nothing stands in the way for Munich: the city council has given the green light for the project.

As already reported, the joint project between the city and UnternehmerTUM The focus is on the topic of "Smart City." A meeting place for international teams is planned. UnternehmerTUM offers special support programs for this purpose. A total of 40 international startups are expected to be established.

Opening planned for 2019

Starting in 2017, the 10,000 square meter site of the creative quarter at Leonrodplatz will house office and event space, coworking spaces, and a maker space. The City of Munich is providing the land on a long-term lease and the connections to the city. UnternehmerTUM is contributing its leading European expertise and networks and will cover the costs of construction and operation of the new building.

The opening of the new start-up and innovation center is planned for 2019.

Contacts with technology companies and venture capital
