Bavarian Digital Prize seeks creative ideas

Under the motto "Market.Economy.Digital," the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs is launching a new round of the Bavarian Digital Prize B.Digital. This year's competition focuses on how digital tools and processes can be effectively implemented in businesses and companies. Interested parties can submit their applications until April 22nd.

As part of this year's Bavarian Digital Prize, B.Digital, the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs is seeking the most creative and smart ideas that advance the digitalization of the economy in the Free State. The winning projects of the competition will be awarded the B.Digital Digital Prize this summer. last year's winning teams Among others, the startups Munevo Drive and Edjufy.

“Digital skills and an innovative mindset”

Digital Minister Judith Gerlach explains what is being sought at this year’s digital award:

"Digital transformation represents a major opportunity for our local businesses – from small sole proprietorships to large corporations. Digital skills and an innovative mindset are essential to benefiting from it as fully as possible. This year, with the B.Digital Digital Award, we are honoring initiatives and projects that support our working world with ideas and creative applications in digital transformation, such as an employee hackathon or a digital training platform. I invite everyone to join us and join us in driving Bavaria's digitalization forward."

Applications are possible until April 22nd

The application period for the B.Digital Digital Award runs until April 22, 2022, and applications can be submitted online. Both ideas and already implemented projects are eligible. It is important that the project has a clear connection to digitalization and the annual motto "Market.Economy.Digital." Furthermore, the project must not have already been developed by others. Individuals or groups with a registered office or residence in Bavaria are eligible to participate.

The winning projects will then be selected in a two-stage process. Anyone interested can vote for their favorite projects online in a public vote from May 15 to 30. The top ten projects from the vote for project ideas and implemented projects will be evaluated by a jury. Five projects in each category will then receive an invitation to the awards ceremony on July 14 in Munich.

The winning teams will be announced during the ceremony. They will receive cash prizes, trophies, and certificates. The first-place winners will also have the opportunity to present their projects at this year's Code Bavaria digital summit in the fall.
