Flix: Flixbus parent company renames itself

Flixmobility, the parent company of Flixbus and Flixtrain, has changed its name and now operates under the name Flix. This completes the transformation of the former GmbH into an SE.

Already in January, Flixmobility announced that it would reposition itself: Flixbus-Nut has changed its name from a GmbH to a European Company (SE). Flixmobility's name was also shortened to Flix.

In addition, the Munich-based company has also reorganized its management as part of the restructuring: Flixbus co-founder André Schwämmlein has taken over the role of CEO and is leading the business units Flixbus and Flixtrain, the commercial functions, as well as the areas of communications, policy, and sustainability. Co-founder Daniel Krauss, as CIO, is responsible for technology and people management. Former Condor CFO Christoph Debus has also been a member of Flix's executive board as CFO since the beginning of March. The third co-founder and former co-CEO, Jochen Engert, has moved to the supervisory board. The chairman of the supervisory board is Bitkom President Achim Berg.

Flix wants to “show how the future of sustainable and smart travel works”

The company says that shortening the name is intended to highlight the core values of the product and the company more strongly.

"Our DNA is green! This applies not only to our products, it applies to the entire company,"

says the Flix CEO André Schwämmlein.

"Booking on our website or app is as simple as the name. We're showing the future of sustainable and smart travel. In Germany and around the world."
