ServusZukunft #Hackathon Handwerk: Register now

The ServusZukunft #Hackathon Handwerk (Handicraft Hackathon) on June 24 and 25 at the Fraunhofer Center in Benediktbeuern Monastery will focus on innovative solutions for the skilled trades over 30 hours. Participants from the startup scene are also invited to participate.

The skilled trades industry, like other economic sectors, is undergoing radical change. Although many work steps are still performed manually, new, primarily digital, technologies are making inroads into the trades: Robots are welding and grinding, cloud services are synchronizing work on the construction site and in the office, 3D printers are producing dentures, jewelry, and eyeglass frames, drones are assisting in roof inspections, and AI-based assistance systems are being used, for example, in the repair of complex systems.

Products and processes for the world of tomorrow

The potential of the diversity in the trades is enormous. Many startups have already recognized this and are developing helpful tools for tradespeople. However, there are still many challenges that tradespeople have to deal with on a daily basis. Against this backdrop, the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria together with the location marketing company of the district of Miesbach, the first hackathon for the skilled trades in the Munich Oberland.

Everyone who wants to work with craftspeople on products, processes, and applications for the world of tomorrow is welcome at the ServusZukunft #Hackathon Handwerk on June 24 and 25 at the Fraunhofer Center in Benediktbeuern Monastery. You can get an insight into what to expect here:

Registrations are now possible

At the ServusZukunft #Hackathon Handwerk, all participants are given a 30-hour time slot. During this time, they are expected to address a specific question and concrete topics. In small groups of approximately five people, they are expected to develop an idea and an initial prototype. After the time limit, the individual teams will present their results, and the best prototypes will be recognized.
