The purchase is Yoummday’s first acquisition since Financing of 30 million euros from Armira Growth and Project A in February 2022. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed. Even after the acquisition, the Icon brand will initially remain. The current management team will continue to run the business together with the Munich-based startup.
The Munich-based company's Work@home operating system offers solo freelancers the opportunity to work in customer service from anywhere in the world. Klaus Harisch, CEO and founder of Yoummday, says:
“Our strategy of integrating traditional BPO (Business Process Outsourcer, d. Red.) and contact center providers into our platform is solidified by the acquisition of Icon. We look forward to working with the team, whose skills are an optimal fit for our brand."
Yoummday aims for expansion
The startup's customers include DAX-listed companies, established e-commerce players, and startups. These companies can access more than 6,000 qualified freelancers on the Yoummday platform for their projects.
The acquired company, Icon, has been providing customer service outsourcing solutions to international companies since 2003. Yoummday expects to benefit from Icon's multilingual approach, global reach, and B2B customer experience. The Munich-based startup plans to expand into the UK and US markets.
