Pigtie is developing a holistic financial platform designed to empower its users to invest. Founded by Maximilian Klinke and Christian Maksymiw, the company aims to primarily target students and young professionals between the ages of 18 and 32 with its solution. Pigtie has previously financed itself through funding programs and its own initial revenues; a pre-seed round has now raised a six-figure sum for the young company. The new capital will primarily be used to further develop the app and contribute to the Munich-based startup's vision: to become a lifelong companion for users' personal finances. The investment will also be used to expand the Pigtie community.
Discover the capital market in a playful way
"We've proven that we can empower our users to engage with their personal finances in a contemporary way, to think outside the box of outdated financial products, and to playfully discover the capital market for themselves. With this successful financing round, we've demonstrated that our vision has not only convinced several thousand users, but also renowned investors. With the capital we've now raised, we will implement a complete redesign of the app, develop additional features and offerings within our app, and expand our community."
says CEO and co-founder Maximilian Klinke on the current financing round.
Microinvesting through rounding-up service
In its app, Pigtie offers, among other things, a free round-up service. This is a micro-investing tool that aims to introduce users to the world of capital markets through regular investments of cents. For cashless payments, digital transactions are rounded up to the nearest euro, and this round-up is then invested in ETFs. 'Pigtie Lessons', a knowledge platform integrated into the app, also provides users with information about the world of finance.
Currently, users can integrate existing bank accounts into the app and open a new one or link it to an existing deposit account. In the future, Pigtie aims to provide a comprehensive financial overview in the app.
