Digitalization is only slowly reaching certain industries. Property management and housing companies have not yet been among the digital trendsetters. The Munich-based startup casavi aims to change this with its "software-as-a-service" platform optimized for this industry, opening up new avenues for companies in the areas of customer support and service provision.

“In Germany alone, more than 20,000 companies are involved in managing the nationwide housing stock and play a central role in the residential environment,”

says Peter Schindlmeier, Managing Director of casavi GmbH, on the current situation in the German housing industry. The responsibilities of property management companies range from providing residents with up-to-date information to coordinating maintenance work and billing issues. Property management companies have traditionally provided these services in the background. However, they are increasingly confronted with the desire of property owners and tenants for greater transparency, better accessibility, and increased service convenience, explains Peter Schindlmeier.

The casavi customer service platform enables companies of all sizes to enter the digital customer service market. The casavi platform aims to improve customer satisfaction and generate cost and efficiency benefits for the housing industry. For example, casavi helps avoid redundant inquiries, reduce postage costs through digital document provision, and link service requests with internal systems in a process-optimized manner. Following a pilot phase with selected pilot customers, the casavi platform has been available since fall 2015 and is now used by over 20 companies for digitally supported tenant and homeowner support.

“casavi is a company with great growth potential, which convinced us above all through its positioning in an attractive market segment and its promising business idea,”

Roman Huber, Managing Director of Bayern Kapital, explains the decision to invest in the company. The initial contact between the company and investors took place at the BayStartup start-up consultancy. Bayern Kapital, together with High-Tech Gründerfonds, is investing in casavi…
