Awake Mobility raises money again

Predictive maintenance for buses – with this idea, the Munich-based startup Awake Mobility once again won over investors and raised €4 million. The round is led by B&C Innovation Investments, with other investors including High-Tech Gründerfonds, SEK Ventures, and former executives from the automotive industry.

Awake Mobility has developed a hardware and software solution that uses real-time vehicle data collection to know how a bus is doing and when it is time for a workshop visit. the startup The reliability, punctuality, and environmental friendliness of buses can be significantly improved. Awake Mobility already impressed Silicon Valley-based High-Tech Gründerfonds, Vireo Ventures, and Synapse Partners with its solution last year.

This pre-seed financing is now followed by another capital injection. The Munich-based startup announces the successful completion of a financing round of €4 million. The round is led by B&C Innovation Investments, a company of the Austrian B&C Group. Existing investors High-Tech Gründerfonds and Synapse Partners are also participating. Other investors include SEK Ventures – the investment firm of the Flixbus founders –, Joachim Drees, former CEO of MAN Truck & Bus, Carl-Peter Forster, former President/CEO of General Motors Europe and former BMW board member, and other business angels.

Daniel Tyoschitz, co-founder and CEO of Awake Mobility explains what his startup plans to use the fresh funding for:

"The current capital increase will support us in the technical development of our hardware and software platform and the associated introduction of new services for our customers. We also want to rapidly drive forward the further expansion of our company. With the B&C Group, we have an experienced partner at our side during this important phase of development and growth, from whom we will benefit in many areas."

The Munich-based startup was founded in October 2020 by Daniel Sattel, Houssem Braham, and Daniel Tyoschitz. Since then, the company has gained several renowned bus companies and fleets in three European countries as customers, including Autobus Oberbayern and VAG Nuremberg.
