"This is a tremendous recognition of the achievements of our university community. We have every reason to be pleased. Because such results can only be achieved through outstanding commitment and excellent science."
says the TUM President Thomas F. Hofmann.
"Nevertheless, we are not basing our future strategy solely on these rankings, but are following our own path. We place great value on top-quality medical care in our clinics, which is not reflected in such rankings. Equally important to us is the quality of the training of the next generation of teachers. And of course, the innovative capacity of our engineers is measured not only by publications, but also – independent of rankings – develops its special strength at the interfaces with industrial practice and social relevance."
The two other important global university rankings, the QS World University Rankings and the Shanghai Ranking The Technical University of Munich and the LMU are listed as the best German universities.
