Swiss startup Quitt opens German subsidiary in Munich

The Swiss startup Quitt is expanding into Germany and has founded a wholly-owned subsidiary, Quitt Deutschland GmbH, in Munich.

In the Munich subsidiary von Quitt currently employs three people. In addition to its headquarters in Zurich and its office in Munich, the Swiss company also operates an office in the Armenian capital Yerevan and employs a total of around 40 people.

Quitt already works for over 20,000 customers

The company offers a digital solution for registering, managing, and billing domestic help, making it the first provider of its kind in the German market. The company's goal is to end the illegal employment of cleaning assistants, gardeners, and child and senior caregivers. This provides the employing households with a way out of illegality, and offers domestic helpers access to insurance and accident protection. The state also receives social security contributions and taxes.

According to the company, domestic helpers are employed in around ten percent of all German households. Around 3.6 million helpers are employed illegally in Germany.

"We handle correspondence with authorities and insurance companies, offer a sample employment contract, and record working hours and vacation time. We provide monthly statements for employers and employees, thus also supporting the application for tax rebates – always up-to-date, legally compliant, and completely digital."

In Switzerland, the company already has over 20,000 customers with approximately 40,000 employment contracts. Quitt plans to expand into other countries in the future.
