As early as November 18, 2022, Toposens filed for the opening of insolvency proceedings before the Munich Regional Court. Attorney Stefan Strüwind from Bendel Insolvency Administration was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator.

The Munich startup develops sensor systems and software that enable autonomous technologies to perceive their environment in three dimensions and interact with it. The sensors work on the basis of ultrasonic waves that are transmitted and received similar to how a bat uses echolocation. According to the insolvency administrator, the product is production-ready and is already being delivered to major customers in the warehousing industry.

Toposens: insolvency administrator seeks investors

There is still hope for the startup. According to the insolvency administrator, new investors are being sought for the company. Business operations will continue “in full” in the meantime.

Toposens was founded in 2015 by Tobias Bahnemann, Alexander Rudoy, and Rinaldo Persichini. According to our Insights, the company has raised up to €4.5 million in capital so far. According to its own information, Toposens sells its products to over 300 customers in more than 20 countries.
