The online retailer for baby and toddler products windeln.de announces strong growth figures for 2015. The Munich-based company also expects increasing sales for the current year.
In the last fiscal year, the online shop increased its sales by 76 percent to €178.6 million. The company was able to retain 955,000 active customers, who spent an average of €90 per order. However, losses of around €15 million are still being recorded.
The mail-order company continues its international expansion and has already acquired feedo and bebitus. Windeln.de also launched the Italian online shop pannolini.it and offers direct shipping from Germany to China.
“By expanding into Eastern and Southern Europe, we have diversified our revenue structure and created a good basis for the further scaling of our business model,”
says Alexander Brand, co-founder and board member,
“We will build on this in the current year and significantly expand our business outside Germany.”
In 2016, windeln.de aims to increase its sales by a further 50 percent through growth in other European countries.
