The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is organizing the “Start-up competition – Digital innovations" together with VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH. The competition seeks the best ideas for innovative start-ups based on digital technologies. The competition is divided into two rounds, each consisting of two phases. The application deadline for the 2023 summer round is March 31, 2023.
Start-up competition – Digital Innovations: Idea sketch as application for Phase 1
In the first phase of the summer round, the startup concept should be presented in a maximum of twelve pages. A full business plan is not required. A clear outline of the proposed business model, a realistic assessment of the target market and competitors, and initial approaches to marketing and sales are expected. The idea outline should also include an initial rough timeline for the company's founding and the basic framework of financial planning, i.e., pricing model, revenue, costs, and financing. Furthermore, the idea outline can be explained, showing how economic, ecological, and social sustainability aspects will be taken into account. A concept outline is sufficient for the application. This outline will be treated with strict confidentiality.
The best applications from the first phase will be designated "nominees." They will have the opportunity to revise their submissions after receiving feedback, add to them if necessary, and re-upload them. The jury will select the winners from these submissions.
