Onvy aims to merge artificial intelligence and digital health to enable a new type of personalized and predictive healthcare.
Timo Baumgartl, who is currently under contract with PSV Eindhoven and has been on loan to Union Berlin since 2021, and Onvy founder Adrian Kochsiek met by chance in Munich a few months ago. Startup helped the footballer a lot to improve his daily habits and routines, to recover better and to perform better. Adrian Kochsiek says:
"When I first chatted with Timo, I immediately thought: This guy is a perfect fit for Onvy. Coincidentally, we were already in the starting blocks of our second seed round at the time. A perfect match!"
Cancer connects investor and founder
The professional footballer and the founder share a history of cancer treatment. Timo Baumgartl, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer last year, says:
"Through our experiences with the disease, there was a connection from the very beginning. When Adrian told me that he has since become an entrepreneur committed to people's health and has recently launched a new healthtech project with Onvy, I immediately pricked my ears."
Kochsiek was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 18. He learned at a young age the importance of mental resilience and human health. He says:
"Since then, my mission has been to empower people to take control of their health and bring about a paradigm shift toward proactive and preventative health management—with the help of science and technology. That's why I founded the Onvy HealthTech Group."
