Vintage meets high-tech: A dream combination for young city dwellers. The Munich-based startup The Tash produces "Smart Pocket Watches"—smartwatches in the form of pocket watches.
Instead of having to take the smartphone out of your pocket every time you get a notification, just look at your watch — for early adopters Smartwatches are nothing new. The Munich-based startup The Tash is now preparing to integrate smartwatches into hip vintage pocket watches. Founder Peter Paul explains:
“We have spoken to many potential users who are already looking forward to no longer having to constantly take their smartphones out of their pockets.”

The highlight: No annoying charging
The Tash One — that's the name of the first model — can easily keep up with the leading models in terms of technology: touchscreen, 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, 1 GB RAM, IP67-certified. Unlike other smartwatches, the larger display also runs a browser. We tested it munich-startup.de on the Tash One and were able to use all functions.

The real highlight, however, is that there is no need for annoying charging. The watches are charged via a fuel cell The hip companions get their hydrogen from the ambient air. Paul promises:
“If the Tash One runs out of power, the user simply puts his watch in the charger for five to ten minutes. open windows and the battery is fully charged again.”
If this works as promised, it is surely an absolute killer feature.
Market launch planned for Munich, Tel Aviv and New York
From today April 1 Customers can pre-order Tash One. True to the style, however, only in select stores. Paul doesn't want to reveal which ones:
“Otherwise the bearded hipsters will come running down our door.”
By the end of the year, The Tash plans to shake things up in Tel Aviv and New York. Peter Paul expects a huge rush, but isn't too worried about supplies: The young entrepreneurs already have entire containers of old pocket watches in stock, just waiting to be converted into Tash Ones.
