“This honors and motivates us”
This year, 35 candidates made it to the final jury meeting, 14 of whom were then shortlisted for a VisionAward_16 in a selection process. From this shortlist, the jury selected Kontextlab, among others, as the VisionAward_16 winner.
founder Bernhard Scholz about the award:
"We are, of course, delighted about the VisionAward! Convincing a high-caliber jury with our project and then being honored alongside such fantastic other projects is both an honor and a motivation for us."
With the innovative media project “The Context” The young Munich startup vividly visualizes complex topics and comprehensively illuminates their backgrounds. Users find facts, connections, and background information to understand what's happening. Different perspectives, interviews with real experts, and the best content from across the web (Click here for the portrait of “Der Kontext” on munich-startup.de).
Context Lab: Better than most web offerings

The Munich media entrepreneur Ulrich Clef, initiator of the VisionAward and chairman of the jury, explains the winner Kontextlab:
"What impressed us about Der Kontext is that, unlike many other web offerings, topics are not reduced to a minimum of information, but are presented in a media-appropriate and comprehensive manner from various perspectives and with background information. In this way, Der Kontext can also contribute to ensuring that young people, in particular, are multifacetedly informed about important topics and can form their own well-founded opinions, instead of being influenced by the often superficial or agitating phrases that are increasingly taking over social media."
Bernhard Scholz tells us when users can expect the first issue of “Der Kontext”:
"The magazine 'Der Kontext' will be published with its first issue starting in April. After the successful crowdfunding campaign in January, the exciting editorial work has finally begun. Of course, we're also currently fine-tuning the technology so that everything runs as smoothly as possible upon launch. We're really looking forward to it."
