Santander X Challenge “The AI Revolution”: Apply now

The global entrepreneurship platform Santander X is currently seeking technology-based startups and scaleups with disruptive and innovative AI-powered solutions. The challenge offers a total of €120,000 in prize money and the opportunity for global networking. The application deadline is April 27.

The AI Revolution competition is looking for solutions that will help AI technologies can be used more and more widely – from health and education to energy and mobility. The challenge is organized by Santander X, the entrepreneurship platform of the Spanish Santander Bank. Microsoft and the Oxentia Foundation also support the competition.

Santander X will honor a total of six projects: three startups and three scaleups. The startups will each receive €10,000 in prize money, and the scaleups can look forward to €30,000. Furthermore, all six winning teams will become members of the Santander X 100 Community, which offers access to training, capital, and customers. The winners will also have the opportunity to pitch to M12 (Microsoft Venture Capital) and benefit from coaching from Microsoft's Co-Innovation VP.

Santander X is looking for startups and scaleups

To participate in the competition – The application deadline is April 27 – startups and scaleups must meet different criteria. Startups must either

  • market a product or service with an annual turnover of less than $300,000,
  • or have raised between $100,000 and $1 million in capital,
  • or employ between two and 25 full-time employees.

Scaleups, in turn, must either

  • market a product or service with an annual turnover of over $300,000,
  • or have raised more than $1 million in capital,
  • or employ more than 25 full-time employees.

They must also be headquartered in Germany or one of the other selected countries. Twenty finalists (10 startups and 10 scaleups each) will be announced on May 27. The six winning teams will then be determined in a pitch competition on June 1. The awards ceremony will take place on June 29 in Silicon Valley, where one member of each winning team will be invited.
