Ecoplanet secures €2.6 million in seed round

Ecoplanet has closed its seed round with €2.6 million. HV Capital is leading the financing of the B2B energy platform, with several angel investors participating, including former Siemens Supervisory Board Chairman Gerhard Cromme and the Flixbus founders.

Maximilian Dekorsy and Henry Keppler founded Ecoplanet in July 2022. The energy platform is aimed at European industrial companies and aims to help them through the energy transition. Louise Meyer-Schönherr from HV Capital says:

"Energy management has become a top priority for mid-sized industrial companies, and the early adoption of Ecoplanet is a clear indicator of this. Ecoplanet's software is adaptable to a diverse group of customers, enabling a high impact."

Ecoplanet: Optimized power consumption for industrial companies

The Startup enables its corporate customers to optimize their electricity consumption. Given fluctuating electricity prices, consumption is concentrated during periods of low prices. Smart meters, which record electricity consumption in real time, are intended to reduce energy costs. Matthias Praus, Managing Director of Ecoplanet customer GHV Schmiedetechnik, says:

"Using smart meter data holds enormous potential for us that we haven't yet tapped into. With Ecoplanet, we've implemented a pulse check that allows us to monitor our daily operations and respond to changes in energy consumption as they occur. By leveraging this data, we've been able to save money while meaningfully implementing our sustainability goals."

The founders claim to have experience in the field: Henry Keppler previously worked with industrial companies at the management consultancy McKinsey. Maximilian Dekorsy grew up in a family-run industrial business. Like his co-founder, he worked at a management consultancy, the Boston Consulting Group, before subsequently founding his own consulting firm.
