Munich Startup: How did you prepare for the campaign with Magic Bavaria and where did you find good support?
Magic Bavaria: The idea to run a crowdfunding campaign to finance our Magic Bavaria Adventure Museum came from the team of Munich start-up offices. With the Crowdfunding advice from the City of Munich From then on, we stayed in regular contact and even attended the crowdfunding breakfast a few times. The experiences of the other participants were very interesting and helpful. We also attended the crowdfunding festival last year. There, we met many interesting startups and heard exciting presentations. We also attended the Startnext Academy and received many helpful tips for successfully running a campaign. We had originally planned to launch our campaign last summer, but then had to postpone our plans several times because the realization of our project was repeatedly delayed for various reasons.
Munich Startup: How did you benefit from the crowdfunding support from the City of Munich?
Magic Bavaria: Thanks to the City of Munich's crowdfunding support, we were able to cover part of the costs of our crowdfunding film. Furthermore, the team continually encouraged us in our endeavors and proved very flexible and cooperative when it came to postponing our campaign.
Munich Startup: What was the best tip you received while preparing the campaign?
Magic Bavaria: There were many… in terms of the video, the communication, the timing, the thank yous, the preparation… But not really the a helpful tip.
Magic Bavaria: “Proud of the many positive feedback”
Munich Startup: What advice would you give to other founders who are considering launching a crowdfunding campaign?
Magic Bavaria: There are some great examples of successful crowdfunding campaigns. We've done a lot of research and looked at numerous campaigns. This is encouraging and empowers us to believe that we can also create a successful campaign ourselves.
Munich Startup: What are you particularly proud of regarding the campaign?
We've put a lot of thought into when the right time is for our crowdfunding campaign and when we can actually go ahead with it.
We are proud of the many positive responses we have received to the campaign, which encourage us to make our dream of a fantastic experience museum for Munich come true!
Munich Startup: In many crowdfunding campaigns, market testing or marketing are the primary focus, in addition to financing. How is that with you?
Crowdfunding is actually only a small, but nonetheless very important, financial component of our large project. We would like to use crowdfunding to involve the people of Munich in our interactive museum and let them participate from the very beginning. Ideally, we will be able to crowdfund one of our larger exhibits, the Upside-Down Alpine Hut. Visitors will then have a direct connection and know that they have helped support this installation.
