This year, the Department of Climate and Environmental Protection is once again honoring the most effective and innovative projects in the field of environmental protection. The Munich Environmental Prize is designed to recognize already implemented projects and initiatives that promote environmental protection, whether through the protection of wildlife and plants, the restoration of ecosystems, waste prevention and reduction, water conservation and management, or other environmental measures.
All environmentalists can apply, whether as an individual, with a company, a research institution or a non-profit project. Initiatives that stand out with their originality and sustainability convince.
Anyone wishing to participate must meet the following requirements:
- Munich connection
- Benefits for the environment
- innovation
- role model character
- effectiveness
- The project is completed between 2019 and the date of submission of the application
A jury will award the prize, which is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros. The application deadline for the 2023 Munich Environmental Prize is July 7, 2023. The winners will receive their awards at a celebratory ceremony in fall 2023.
