A total of 124 contests were held in Germany last year, with more than three million euros going to the winners in cash and non-cash prizes. The portal Für-Gründer.de provides a study on startup competitions from 2014, which gruenderszene.de summarized once again:
A total of 834 awards were given to 673 winners in 124 competitions. Most competitions took place in Bavaria (13), followed by Lower Saxony (11) and North Rhine-Westphalia (9). More than three million euros were distributed in the competitions: two and a half million euros in cash and almost 600,000 euros in non-cash prizes.
