These five Munich-based startups are developing solutions for Industry 4.0 – from modern robots and networked systems to new methods and materials.

Developed a special robot for Industry 4.0 Roundpeg TechnologiesThis system is designed to recognize people in its surroundings, allowing the startup to actively prevent accidents, even at high work speeds. Founders Oliver Krieg and Etienne Eichstaedt aim to revolutionize production with their invention and drastically reduce the costs of using automated solutions on assembly lines. In an interview with Munich Startup, Oliver Krieg explains: "We don't need a fence because our robot recognizes people and doesn't endanger them. This makes it much easier to further automate tasks in the factory and to present new manufacturing concepts that are significantly more flexible and also scale much better."
