The cybersecurity company Fraud0.com uses artificial intelligence to detect fraud attempts in online advertising, e-commerce, and the travel and insurance industries, among others. With this concept, the startup has now convinced numerous investors. In the investment round led by Signals Venture Capital, investors include Daniel Johannsen (co-founder of Usercentrics), OMR X, Sven Rittau (CEO K5 and co-founder Zooplus), Alexander Gösswein (former Criteo manager for Europe), and Snowplow managers Christian Lubasch and Yali Sassoon.

Fraud0.com plans to use the fresh capital to develop new cybersecurity products, expand its services to new markets, and solidify its position as a leading provider in the fight against fraudulent online activities.

Daniel Kirchleitner, general partner at Signals Venture Capital, comments:

“Fraud0.com is a true game changer for many areas of the internet. We are really impressed by the speed and resource-efficient performance of the team. The software is likely to revolutionize the web in some areas.”

The startup analyzes over 4,000 data points, such as connection speed, mouse movements, and user behavior. It also uses JavaScript challenges, so-called honeypots, behavioral analysis, and other cybersecurity techniques to determine whether there is a human behind the screen or software merely posing as one. The company, founded in 2021, already counts brands such as Aboutyou, Apollo Optik, and Ulla Popken among its customers.

Fraud0.com: Leading fraud expert as partner

Alongside the funding, Fraud0.com officially announces a close partnership with Dr. Augustine Fou, a fraud expert and researcher who earned his doctorate at MIT at just 23 years old. Dr. Fou has authored over 1,500 scientific articles on cybersecurity, developed proprietary technology, and works with leading global brands to protect them from the effects of fake traffic.

Tilman Pfeiffer and Daniel Distler, managing directors of Fraud0.com, explain:

“We are very proud and honored to have Dr. Fou on board. He is one of the greatest, if not the greatest expert in the field of digital fraud detection. Together, we provide every advertiser with the best technology at an affordable price.”
