Relevance secures a strategic investment from Jokey GroupThe Munich-based startup offers sustainable, reusable to-go solutions as a pay-per-use system, tailored to the individual needs of restaurants, cafés, corporate restaurants, caterers, and communal catering. The startup was founded in spring 2020 by Aaron Sperl, Gregor Kolb, and Matthias Potthast. According to the startup, the Relevo reusable system is now used at more than 3,500 partner locations and in over 800 German cities.

Now the Munich-based company is bringing on board an investor who is familiar with the circular economy. The Jokey Group has KeepIn A separate reusable division was established at the beginning of 2023. All KeepIn products, such as bowls, trays, and beverage cups, are made from recyclable plastic. Christof Kölschbach, CSO of the Jokey Group, says about the current investment:

“Our investment in Relevo is an important step to further expand the market position of our subsidiary brand KeepIn for sustainable reusable packaging in Germany.”

Gregor Kolb, founder and managing director of Relevo, continues:

"We are delighted to have won the Jokey Group as an investor for Relevo. The family-owned company Jokey is a renowned manufacturer of food and non-food packaging in Europe. Jokey's sustainable approach and pioneering role in the circular economy of packaging convinced us. Furthermore, our partner restaurants benefit from high-quality, sustainable, and durable reusable packaging from the Jokey Group."

The Jokey Group has been cooperating with other reusable systems for some time, such as the Danish deposit system New Loop and the Spanish reusable system Bumerang.

"With our investments, we want to further advance sustainable reusable solutions in Germany and Europe and be part of the bigger picture. In Relevo, we see an innovative reusable solution that, thanks to its digital, deposit-free concept, can be implemented easily and practically for both restaurants and consumers,"

explained Ramona Lob, Head of the KeepIn Business Unit.
