Start-up competition – Digital innovations: Submit your business idea now

Applications for the "Start-up Competition - Digital Innovations" are now open again this week. The application period for the 2024 summer round runs until March 27.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is once again seeking the best ideas for innovative start-ups based on digital technologies for its start-up competition. Interested founders can apply for the current round until March 27.

The “Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations” is one of the largest and oldest competitions for startups in Germany. Since 1997, 500 startups have already been honored. The BMWK awards up to 21 prizes in three categories per round. In addition, all participants benefit from coaching support and networking, as well as public visibility during the competition.

There are two competition rounds each year. Each competition round consists of two phases. In the first phase, participants register online and upload their idea sketch and, if applicable, their video. After the deadline for the first phase, all participants receive written feedback. The best participants from the first phase are designated "nominees," giving them the opportunity to revise their submissions based on the feedback. The jury ultimately selects the winners from these submissions.

Further details about the competition and the opportunity to apply can be found here.
