Mentessa secures EU funding

The Munich-based EdTech startup Mentessa secures financing and support from EIT Digital for a project with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark.

Mentessa has developed a platform that connects employees for skills-based learning and collaboration. The startup's app aims to help employees quickly and easily find the right mentor, advance their careers, or share their experiences – regardless of hierarchies, locations, and prejudices. With this approach, the Edtech startup in March 2022 already secured one million euros in a seed round.

The startup, founded in 2019, has now secured funding and support from EIT Digital, a funding program co-funded by the European Union, for a project in collaboration with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark. The amount of the funding was not disclosed.

The joint project between the Munich-based startup and Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark aims to test Mentessa's intelligent Skills Agent and, with the help of AI and Large Language Models, to understand, connect, and develop the skills of the workforce at Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark. Tina Ruseva, founder and CEO of Mentessa, says:

"We are grateful for the opportunity to work closely with Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark and the EIT Digital Ecosystem. This project will not only foster technological innovation but also contribute to a more inclusive workplace. We look forward to having a lasting impact on the way we work together."

“Only if we understand the skills of the workforce can we connect and develop them”

Diva Tommei, Chief Innovation and Education Officer EIT Digital, continues:

"This collaboration with Mentessa is a prime example of how EIT Digital aims to foster innovation and skills development in the European digital sector. Mentessa's approach to leveraging AI for skill enhancement aligns perfectly with our mission to support digital transformation and workforce upskilling across Europe. We are excited to see how this project develops and contributes to developing workplace dynamism."

And Peter Krtschal, Head of Human Resources Management at Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, commented:

"We are excited to be working with Mentessa on this project. Only by understanding the skills of the workforce can we connect and develop them. Working with Mentessa will bring us one step closer to our strategic HR agenda. Mentessa's vision aligns with our commitment to fostering continuous learning and development for our employees and leading industry change in the region."
