SXSW combines technology conference and culture festival in one and thus attracts numerous guests year after year. Tech pioneers and innovators, startups and companies, creatives and artists from around the world come together from March 8 to 16. Among the speakers announced so far for SXSW 2024 are AMD chip manufacturer president and CEO Lisa Su and Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, as well as author and director Jennette McCurdy and actress Rosario Dawson.
The Landeshauptstadt München will contribute to the hustle and bustle of the conference again this year with a delegation. Together with representatives from city administration, business, and culture and creative sectors, nine startups will also attend the event in Austin.
Ägile Ässets
With its social media management tool, Ägile Ässets wants to help marketers design and plan campaigns more easily and successfully – across various channels, languages, and brands. The solution also leverages artificial intelligence, for example in creating posts or in the future for trend analysis.
Angsa Robotics
The autonomous robot platform from Angsa Robotics uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automatically remove waste from green spaces. Cigarette butts and glass shards are also no problem for the cleaning robot. With its solution, the Munich startup wants to increase the efficiency and sustainability of waste management in parks and other green areas.
Atopia
The virtual reality startup Atopia is building a platform where museums, galleries, and attractions from around the world can be experienced immersively from home – interactively and socially.
Atopia co-founder Annabell Vacano shares:
“Since SXSW is the world’s largest global conference for media and entertainment, we can hardly wait to make exciting connections with like-minded people and represent Munich’s startup ecosystem.”
Bavertis
The team at Bavertis has developed a combination of software and hardware that can extend the battery life of electric vehicles by up to 80 percent. At the same time, the solution is intended to significantly simplify the integration of vehicles into the energy grid through vehicle-to-X applications.
Niclas Lehnert, CEO and co-founder of Bavertis, is looking forward to SXSW:
“We are pioneering a new era of sustainable, circular battery electronics that unlocks the future of mobility! At SXSW we look forward to presenting and discussing our solutions, connecting with global industry leaders and investors, and gaining valuable insights into the latest technology trends across different industries.”
Certivity
Certivity wants to digitize, simplify, and accelerate the verification of regulations in automotive development with its platform. To do this, the startup’s solution can be integrated into the development process to seamlessly connect the legal and regulatory world with the technical domain. In this way, the startup wants to enable smarter, safer, more transparent, more efficient, and more cost-effective management of regulatory requirements.
Dromni
The team at Dromni is working to enable computers and thus machines to understand spaces the way humans do. This will allow expensive tasks and manual decision-making processes to be taken over by AI assistants, leading to more efficient handling of complex projects.
Elive
Elive enables viewers to experience their favorite creators and athletes live. To do this, the startup has developed a cloud-based end-to-end platform for remote production. This is intended to allow all players in the industry to deliver live formats produced in the cloud.
Envoria
Regulations such as the EU taxonomy, the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, or mandatory calculation of greenhouse gas emissions require new processes from companies in Europe. Among other things, they must collect, qualify, and disclose data from the areas of environment, social, and corporate governance (the so-called ESG criteria). Envoria wants to help companies do exactly that.
Envoria CEO and co-founder Sven Schubert explains the focus with which he is heading to Austin:
“Partnerships are our top priority, and we look forward to forging new transatlantic connections and improving our capabilities and those of others.”
Summ AI
Easy language is not just about avoiding long sentences, but a defined language style in the field of accessibility. It makes information accessible and understandable to everyone through short sentences, simple grammar, and additional explanations. So far, texts have been manually translated into easy language, which is expensive and time-consuming. The Munich startup Summ AI wants to change that with its AI-based technology. Its AI-powered tool ‘Summ AI’ automatically translates any complicated text into easy language and makes information accessible and understandable.
Founder and CEO Flora Geske says:
“Summ AI is the ‘Google Translate’ for easy language: an AI-powered tool that makes any complicated text accessible and understandable to everyone. We work with government agencies and companies to enable them to comply with accessibility requirements at the push of a button. At SXSW we are looking for potential partners abroad and want to expand our growing network in the field of AI and accessibility!”
