The Munich Startup Award will be presented on 17 July 2024 at the 2nd Munich Startup Festival at Backstage Munich. Selected startups will compete in two semifinals of the pitch competition at the festival, and the audience will decide which will advance to the final. There, a top-class jury will select the winning team of the Munich Startup Award. This team will receive €10,000 in prize money and be entitled to call itself "Munich Startup of the Year."

To apply To be eligible, startups must be located in the greater Munich area, specifically in the city or district of Munich or one of the districts of Dachau, Ebersberg, Erding, Freising, Fürstenfeldbruck, Landsberg am Lech or Starnberg. By the deadline of July 17, 2024, participating companies must also be no older than five years. The products or services developed by the startup must pursue an innovative and scalable approach. In addition, a functional or demonstrable prototype of the product or service must already exist. All startups wishing to apply must be registered in our Startup listing be listed (enter here). Applications are possible until June 2, 2024.
The selection for the semi-finals will be based on the degree of innovation, the business idea, feasibility, market potential, competitive advantage, team, scalability, customer loyalty and social impact.
With a victory at the Munich Startup Award 2024, a young company follows the previous winners Cleverciti, Catchys, Inveox, Hawa Dawa, Pylot, Pixel Robotics and Deep DriveIn previous years, the award was presented at the Munich startup conference Bits & Pretzels. Since 2023, the awards ceremony has taken place at the Munich Startup Festival.
