Munich Startup's goal is to make Munich the first choice for high-growth startups in Europe. Munich Startup currently operates in the following three areas:
Munich Startup is the leading, official startup portal for the city and region of Munich, focusing on technology-oriented, innovative startups. The platform is characterized by a neutral, independent, and transparent presentation of content and participants.
Munich Startup is also involved in numerous projects to strengthen and further develop Munich's startup ecosystem. Among other things, it has hosted the Munich Startup Festival since 2023.
Munich Startup presents the Munich startup ecosystem nationally and internationally at relevant events and platforms.
Munich Startup, together with the Munich Technology Center (MTZ), is a division of the Munich Business and Technology Center (MGH), a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Munich. The MTZ supports the startup funding program of the MGH; its strategic direction is also provided by the Munich Startup management.
The tasks in detail:
- Overall management of the Munich Startup and MTZ department, personnel, budget and results responsibility with currently twelve employees
- Strategy development and derivation of action plans and programs for the MGH on the topics of entrepreneurship, innovation, technology promotion and their coordination with the City of Munich
- Operation and further development of the three task areas platform, project work and international presentations
- Strategic management of the MTZ
- Direct reporting to the management of MGH
- Preparation of decision-making documents for the management and the supervisory board of MGH
- Networking with relevant stakeholders from business, science and politics
- local, regional, national and international
Your profile:
- Master's degree
- Good business knowledge
- Several years of professional and management experience
- Strong understanding and interest in the startup scene as well as new technologies and innovations
- Independent working style, high level of initiative, flexibility and organizational talent
- Strong networking skills with startups as well as representatives of companies, administration and institutions
- Willingness to work closely with municipal institutions, especially the municipal economic development agency and the chambers of commerce
- Cooperative leadership style in an innovative and interdisciplinary environment
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and assertiveness
- Comprehensive skills in digital media
- Flexibility in working hours, willingness to travel domestically and abroad
