Founders who apply for the Call4Startups of Airports for Innovation have the opportunity not only to test and validate their solutions at international airports. They also receive 20,000 euros per airport to cover operating and travel costs for the pilot project. And the network also provides access to industry mentors.
nnnnSpecifically, the competition is looking for startups in four areas: Seamless Travel Experience, Sustainable Aviation, AI-powered Airports, and Smart Luggage Revolution. In the seamless travel experience category, the focus is on topics such as gamification and entertainment for passengers, as well as airport navigation and check-in innovations. Sustainable aviation includes energy solutions (production, storage, management, and more) as well as everything related to environmentally friendly fuels. Under AI-powered airports, the initiators expect submissions that improve data management at airports and expand data utilization with new possibilities – of course with the help of AI. And in the smart luggage revolution, beyond sustainability and security in the baggage area, the focus is also on making baggage trackable and faster to locate.
nnnnStartups from around the world that offer solutions for one of the four areas can apply. Points are also awarded for the development stage of the technology, its impact and feasibility, as well as for scalability. The team behind the startup is also evaluated. The application deadline is October 28, and finalists will be announced in November. The pilots are scheduled to start in December.
