Arx Robotics and Renk Group, a provider of drive solutions in the military and civilian sectors, are launching a strategic partnership. Together, they aim to advance the international expansion of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), develop new products, and digitalize existing fleets.
Specifically, Renk is integrating Arx’s AI-based Mithra OS operating system into its mobility solutions. The operating system enables existing vehicles to be transformed into connected, autonomous systems through software. With this, both companies aim to provide armed forces with improved real-time situational awareness and increased operational efficiency.
Marc Wietfeld, CEO and co-founder of Arx Robotics, explains:
“Defense companies are at a turning point today where software, automation, and system connectivity will redefine the significance of military capabilities. Thanks to Renk’s industrial strength and established market presence, we can unlock new possibilities for scaling and global reach through this partnership.”
Scaling and international expansion in focus
The collaboration focuses on industrializing and internationalizing software-defined defense technology. This includes establishing joint production facilities, developing new platforms, and adapting to regional requirements. Arx and Renk are targeting their expansion specifically at markets such as the USA, the UK, France, Italy, India, and the Middle East – regions where demand for autonomous defense technology is rising.
Alexander Sagel, CEO of Renk Group, emphasizes:
“This partnership combines Renk’s expertise in high-performance mobility systems with Arx Robotics’ innovative robotics and software capabilities. Together, we aim to scale production, expand international reach, and further develop autonomous functionalities.”
Arx Robotics was founded in 2022 by former German Armed Forces officers Marc Wietfeld, Maximilian Wied, and Stefan Roebel. The company develops AI-powered UGVs as well as the world’s first independent AI operating system for existing vehicles. With the Arx Robotic Framework, a combination of modular software and scalable hardware, Arx aims to significantly shape the digital transformation of land forces.
