Munich-based deeptech Qooda has won the Munich Business Plan Competition 2026. The company is developing a quantum-based navigation solution that works without a satellite signal. Second and third places went to Linq Photonics with photonic control systems for quantum computers and Micro Factory with an automated 3D printing solution for medical applications.

With 382 participating teams, the competition recorded the highest turnout in its 30-year history this year. Baystartup organizes the competition together with LfA Förderbank Bayern and supports founder teams in developing viable business models from technological innovations.

With its technology, Qooda addresses a problem that is gaining importance in light of increasing disruptions and manipulation of satellite navigation systems. The startup combines quantum sensing with sensor fusion and AI-driven data evaluation. This creates magnetic field maps that enable precise positioning even without GPS. The company sees potential applications in fields such as aviation, robotics, autonomous systems, and other safety-critical applications.

Deeptech Shapes the Competition

The other winning teams also rely on sophisticated future technologies. Linq Photonics develops photonic chips that make controlling quantum computers significantly more compact and, according to the company, can reduce space requirements by up to 90 percent. As a result, significantly more qubits should be able to be controlled in parallel in the future.

Micro Factory automates the entire resin-based 3D printing workflow for dental and other medical applications. The system handles all process steps from manufacturing to cleaning and curing, aiming to reduce manual labor and enable reproducible manufacturing processes.

Barbara Dombay, Managing Director of Baystartup, comments:

“The Munich Business Plan Competition brings founder teams to a crucial point: They must show that a technologically convincing solution can become a commercially viable company. At the same time, the nominees gain visibility with investors. Sound feedback and access to relevant contacts are strong arguments for participating.”

The Munich Business Plan Competition has been supporting founder teams in developing their business models for 30 years. The focus is on topics such as market potential, sales, financing, and corporate strategy. All participants receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors.

Interested founder teams and startups can already join the waiting list for the next round.
