Starting October 1, 2026, Bella & Bona will supply offices in North Rhine-Westphalia from its own kitchen. The startup will initially focus on Dusseldorf and Cologne. After Munich and Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia is the company’s third market.

Bella & Bona offers companies various all-in-one catering solutions: the offering ranges from daily lunches, breakfast, and fruit to event catering and office kitchen equipment. The startup prepares the meals in its own kitchens and delivers them directly to offices. Employees can order their meals individually via an app. Customers manage budgets, billing, and reporting through a centralized platform.

According to the company, Bella & Bona has delivered more than two million meals to date. Every month, over 20,000 employees across more than 300 companies use the service.

Bella & Bona Self-Finances Expansion

Bella & Bona is financing its market entry into North Rhine-Westphalia from its ongoing business operations. According to the company, it has been profitable since 2024. Over the next twelve months, it aims to create 20 new jobs in kitchen operations, logistics, and sales across NRW.

Niccolò Lapini, CEO and co-founder of Bella & Bona, explains the choice of region:

“Around 25,000 companies based in North Rhine-Westphalia fit our target profile exactly. Nowhere else in Germany is the density that high. When so many offices are located so close together, having our own kitchen on site pays off. That is why we are starting in Düsseldorf and Cologne.”

Unlike an expansion that relies on additional venture capital, Bella & Bona is focusing on organic growth here. Lapini says:

“We are growing out of our operational business, not from the next financing round. That is why we can start in NRW with our own kitchen from day one.”

With the new kitchen, Bella & Bona is expanding its operational infrastructure in addition to its sales territory. The company handles both meal preparation and logistics itself.
