The competition of the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) enters a new round. Until August 18, 2024, founders, startups, networks, and initiatives can submit their projects and applications in the field of digital and transport. The German Mobility Prize awards recognition in four categories: “Digital Transformation and AI”, “New Mobility Solutions”, “Design”, and “Practical Examples”. The focus is on groundbreaking approaches to digital systems where networking, digitalization, and artificial intelligence work together.
Since 2016, the BMDV has recognized technical and social innovations that rethink and shape mobility. Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport Volker Wissing emphasizes:
“The requirements for future-proof mobility are great and demonstrate how important creative ideas are. With the German Mobility Prize, not only outstanding achievements are honored, the competition also inspires the use of digitalization potential and the creation of innovative solutions for modern, networked, and sustainable mobility.”
In a multi-stage selection process, an expert jury identifies the prize winners who will receive the German Mobility Prize 2024 at a festive awards ceremony. In addition to trophies and certificates, winners receive extensive media attention and visibility before and after the event. Furthermore, winners have access to exclusive networking opportunities and transparent feedback from the jury.
German Mobility Prize: participation requirements
Projects, applications, and products in the field of digital and mobility are eligible for the competition and must exist at least as a prototype or in limited distribution. Submissions must result from collaboration and address a concrete challenge in the field of digital and mobility. Contributions must have their focus in Germany or be internationally focused with a substantive connection to Germany.
The team behind the German Mobility Prize also answers all questions about applications during two application coaching sessions. These take place on July 31 and August 12. Tickets for the online trainings are available here.
