With the climate focus of the DIN-Connect competition, the standards institute wants to support Germany’s transformation process towards a climate-neutral and sustainable economy and society. Example areas for submissions include circular economy, artificial intelligence, hydrogen technology, property technology, city of the future, and digital twin.

DIN-Connect supports companies in translating their innovations into standardization and makes it easier for them to gain faster market access.

DIN-Connect offers funding of up to 10,000 euros

The goal of the funding is to create standardizations in the form of DIN SPECs or VDE SPECs. SPECs are quickly created standardizations that can later form the basis of a standard.

The duration of the funding is a maximum of twelve months. Project ideas from startups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises are explicitly preferred. The funding amount is up to 10,000 euros.

Submissions are possible until September 30, 2022. At a pitch event on November 10, 2022, selected applicants can present their ideas. The event takes place in hybrid format: participants can join digitally or – depending on the corona regulations in November – appear in person in Berlin. The winning projects will then be announced on January 31, 2023, and start on March 1, 2023.

Further information and the opportunity to apply can be found on the website of the DIN One cooperation platform.
