The Munich startup Aampere has completed a funding round of €4.2 million. The round is led by Trind Ventures. Vend Marketplaces ASA, an operator of several leading vehicle marketplaces in Scandinavia, is also participating as a minority investor. With G-Fund, a new consumer investor is also coming on board. Existing investors including Gimic and several business angels from the automotive industry are investing again.
Aampere is using the fresh capital to expand its digital platform for pan-European trade in used electric cars. According to the company, revenue quadrupled in the past year. Today, the startup sells several thousand electric vehicles per year and employs more than 25 people.
Aampere caters to private and commercial sellers. Through the platform, they receive a binding purchase offer for their vehicle within 48 hours. To do this, the company combines AI-powered valuation, digital vehicle inspections, and a pan-European dealer auction. After accepting the offer, Aampere handles the entire transaction from payment to vehicle pickup.
Focus on the Used Market for E-Cars
The startup sees a key lever for the spread of electric mobility in the still-underdeveloped used car market across Europe.
Florian Reister, founder and CEO of Aampere, explains:
“Electric mobility is on the rise across Europe – but the secondary market for used e-cars is still fragmented and inefficient. This is exactly when we need infrastructure for the secondary market. Aampere is building the platform for it – so that used electric cars can quickly and reliably find the right buyer across Europe.”
With G-Fund, a new investor is coming on board, impressed above all by the Aampere team. Christof Wahl, founding partner at G-Fund, says:
“Helping to electrify one of Europe’s largest industries is exactly the kind of endeavor we want to be part of. What convinced us most about Aampere is the team: Flo, Maxi, Niko, and the entire team have not only built a strong product, but a scalable execution funnel.”
