The fresh capital comes from existing investor Bayern Kapital, which is participating again through its innovation fund BKI EFRE. The newly founded Munich family office K+K1, led by Timify founder Andreas Knürr, has also invested. Easy-Tutor plans to use the fresh capital to further develop its online tutoring platform and drive growth. From mid-2023, the startup also wants to expand into neighboring countries abroad.
“It is very important to us not to scale at any cost, but to grow in a healthy and sustainable way. This is how we want to become the number one point of contact across Europe for students, parents, and schools when it comes to high-quality, digital school-accompanying tutoring,”
explains Massimo Cancellara, CEO and co-founder of Easy-Tutor.
Several Bundesliga clubs use Easy-Tutor
The company’s cooperation partners play an important role in the development of the edtech startup. According to the company, around 200 partner schools and 40 percent of all Bundesliga clubs – including FC Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Eintracht Frankfurt – currently use Easy-Tutor in their support services for children and young people. The company is also working to win corporate partners. They should give Easy-Tutor more visibility through their target group relevance, while their customers benefit from the tutoring services. In the past, the startup has already worked with well-known retailers such as Edeka, Müller Handels GmbH, and MediaMarktSaturn.
Andreas Knürr, managing director of K+K1, on the motivation for the investment:
“As a father of two children, I naturally think about what the world will look like as they grow up. E-learning and the ‘digital classroom’ will be the most important topics of the future, and it is also a personal concern of mine to now invest in this highly topical field together with Easy-Tutor.”
Cancellara adds:
“Against the backdrop of sluggish digitalization in schools, teacher shortages, and a lack of skilled professionals, it is clear that ensuring comprehensive, high-quality, and contemporary education is one of the most important social tasks of our time. Anyone who wants to bring about change in education today must rethink education.”
