The exact volume of the financing round at Enna was not disclosed. However, it is known that Wayra Deutschland alone is contributing 350,000 euros. The startup, founded in 2020 by Jakob Bergmeier, Tim Haug, and Moritz Kutschera, makes it possible to start video chats via a special plastic card. Additionally, with Enna it’s possible to receive photo and video messages, share photo albums, listen to podcasts, and watch YouTube videos. The user interface design is intended to make it easier for seniors to access online services and stay in contact with their families. To use the service, you need any Apple or Android tablet with the corresponding app installed, as well as suitable cards and the Enna dock.

“We see it as our mission to build the bridge across the digital divide with Enna”

“We are very proud and happy that we were able to successfully complete our seed round and have such strong new partners on board for the future. The lack of digital participation in our society is a very relevant problem that we want to solve with Enna,”

says Jakob Bergmeier, co-founder of Enna.

“I built my first prototype for my grandmother back in 2016. The fact that it has developed into a company since 2020 together with Moritz and Tim makes me particularly proud. The trust that investors have placed in us shows us that we’re on the right track. We see it as our mission to build the bridge across the digital divide with Enna and are looking forward to the time ahead.”

Katrin Bacic, Chief Strategy Officer of Wayra Deutschland, explains:

“The pandemic in particular has shown us how important it is to be connected with one another. Yet for older people, this is often not possible because they are not familiar with technology. Applications like Enna are therefore future-proof because they include all people and promote connections between them.”
