ERC System presented the unmanned hybrid-electric cargo drone Victor U250 at ILA Berlin 2026, designed to transport 250 kilograms of payload over 300 kilometers. The Munich aerospace startup is targeting first deliveries to military and civilian customers in 2028.
The combination of vertical takeoff, cruising flight with wings, a cruise speed of 250 km/h, and field-deployable operation without conventional runways make Victor something extraordinary. These characteristics are particularly important for European defense. Victor can be deployed to deliver supplies even when roads are blocked, landing areas are unsafe, or manned flights are too risky.
Victor is designed as an unmanned UAS for military supply, civilian specialty logistics, and disaster relief. The drone is to accommodate two ISO-standardized pallet positions and can deliver cargo via air drop as well.
Why ERC chose lift-and-cruise over multicopter
Technically, ERC relies on a lift-and-cruise architecture, with Victor taking off vertically but flying with wings during cruise. This is designed to increase range and speed compared to pure multicopter concepts. The hybrid-electric, fuel-based propulsion targets longer operational profiles. Additionally, the system is designed to be transportable in a 20-foot ISO container.
Defense logistics as the first market – civilian applications to follow
The primary focus currently lies on military supply logistics. Beyond that, ERC mentions offshore and coastal logistics, critical infrastructure supply, remote industrial operations, and civilian disaster relief as potential applications.
