Funke Media Group is strengthening its engagement in the regional job board market and acquiring Munich-based startup Everbay. Founded in 2020, the company offers AI-powered social recruiting solutions and ranks among the rising players in the German HR-Tech sector.

The team around the three founders Peter Kirchner, Matthias Oden, and Martin Plöckl develops digital tools that support the entire recruiting process – from reaching out to potential candidates to coordinating job interviews. Their own AI assistant “Anna” handles tasks such as GDPR-compliant contact initiation, data management, interview conducting, and appointment scheduling. CTO Peter Kirchner explains:

“Our goal is to relieve recruiters of their daily workload. They should be able to focus again on what really matters: hiring the right people. We take care of the rest.”

Everbay’s technological foundation convinces Funke

At the center of the acquisition is Everbay’s proprietary technology. The AI analyzes the performance of ongoing social campaigns in real time and automatically decides on budget allocations. This makes it possible to dynamically assemble the optimal channel mix from platforms such as Meta, Google, or international networks.

“I’m very pleased that we were able to win the founders and team of Everbay for our plans. Everbay will help us get closer to our goal of a comprehensive, nationwide HR offering for business customers”,

says Alexander Pelka, CEO of the newly formed Regio-Job Group within Funke Media Group.

The Everbay founders also see the acquisition as an important step. COO Matthias Oden comments:

“Recruiting cannot consist of isolated solutions if you want to be successful as an employer in today’s talent war. Becoming part of a superordinate complete offering is exactly what we wanted for Everbay.”

And CSO Martin Plöckl adds:

“We’re excited that we can now offer our customers an even more effective recruitment process thanks to the opportunities we have within the Funke Group. We’ll also be able to advance the development of our product portfolio more quickly.”

The acquisition becomes effective retroactively from the beginning of the year. Both parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential. The approximately ten-person team will remain based in Munich and will continue to operate as an independent brand under the Funke Group umbrella. The three founders will also remain active in their previous roles as managing directors.
