Sessions was founded in 2019 by Max-Emanuel Hoffmann, Andre Freitag, Christoph Hartl, and Korbinian Riener. On the startup’s online platform, users can offer online events, memberships, and other types of digital content in just a few minutes. At the end of 2021, the company raised 500,000 euros in a seed round. The financing was backed by A Round Capital. The startup also impressed at the 15th edition of the Start?Zuschuss! competition by Gründerland Bayern. According to its own figures, the Munich-based company recently reached over 10,000 active monthly users.

Triviar, an online course platform founded in 2022 and based in Hamburg, is now taking over the Munich startup. The company enables individuals and businesses to publish their own courses and workshops. Triviar’s offering includes around 140 course categories.

Sessions and Triviar as “home for creatives”

Max-Emanuel Hoffmann, CEO of Sessions, says:

“Sessions and Triviar share the same vision for the creative community. As a home for creatives, customer satisfaction remains our top priority, and the combined platform offers the best technical solution on the market.”

Triviar CEO Jonah Schröber adds:

“This is a huge opportunity for us, not only to expand in this space, but also to benefit from the Sessions brand.”

The combination of these two platforms is now intended to expand the possibilities for creatives and course providers in the digital space and significantly increase their reach. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. The Sessions founders have left their company with the acquisition and are now focusing on new projects.
