Exomatter impresses the European innovation scene: The startup secures overall victory at the Innovation Radar Prize 2025. The award is presented by the Europäische Kommission to startups and SMEs that have received EU funding for their innovations. The eleventh edition of the award ceremony, organized by the EU Commission and the “Innovation Radar Bridge” initiative, took place at the Unicorn Factory Lisboa in Portugal.
At the event, twelve finalists presented their innovations and plans for market introduction to a jury of investors and entrepreneurs. The startups from across Europe competed in three prize categories: “Climate, Energy & Mobility”, “AI & Digital Intelligence” and “Smart Hardware & Robotics”.
Exomatter started in the “Climate, Energy & Mobility” category and ultimately prevailed as the overall winner across all categories. The team is working on a platform for materials research and development. The solution offers easily searchable, AI-powered datasets for scientific materials screening. Powerful filters and an AI agent support researchers and developers in finding the most suitable sustainable materials for their needs. Companies should thereby achieve the transition to a circular and sustainable future faster.
